The Canadian Architectural Certification Board (CACB) is seeking interested OAA members to volunteer as assessors for the Broadly Experienced Foreign Architects (BEFA) program. This competency-based program was developed by the Canadian architectural regulators to provide opportunities for foreign-licensed architects to pursue their profession in Canada.
Each year, BEFA assessors are typically asked to review two applications and participate in two assessment interviews. Each BEFA applicant file is reviewed by a panel of three assessors—a chair, a national representative, and a regional representative.
More information on the BEFA program and what the role requires is available online. To submit your name, send your resumé and an Indication of Interest form to Tina Carfa by November 7. The OAA will forward interested candidates to the national committee responsible for selecting assessors.
